Huseyn Idrisov

Expert in Horticulture and Agronomy, Head of Department

Huseyn Idrisov is a professional specialist and scientist with over 35 years of rich experience in the fields of agronomy, horticulture, and agricultural management. Born in 1960, he studied Agronomy at the Azerbaijan Agricultural Academy from 1982 to 1987, and Economics and Management at the Azerbaijan Technical University from 2006 to 2009.

Scientific and Professional Career:

Career Path: He began his professional career at the Azerbaijan Agricultural Academy (now ADAU), where he worked as a laboratory head, assistant, and lecturer. Since 2013, he has been serving as the Head of the Horticulture Department at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).

Management Experience: He has worked as an agricultural project manager in prestigious organizations such as “Norwegian Humanitarian Enterprise” and “AzNorAgro” LLC. He also worked as a local agricultural specialist in the AZAFF project funded by the European Union.

International Projects:

FAO Expertise: Since 2021, he has been serving as an agronomy expert in crop production for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

International Research: He participated in an advanced training course on “Oasis agriculture and efficient water resource use technologies” in the People’s Republic of China, applying international experience to local conditions.

Certification: He is an officially certified specialist of the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) in “Good Agricultural Practices for Azerbaijan” (GAP4AZ).

Practical Experience and Contributions:

Huseyn Idrisov possesses extensive knowledge in agromarketing, business planning in agriculture, plant protection, and the application of modern innovative technologies in horticulture. As a trainer for the World Bank, OSCE, and other international organizations, he has conducted seminars for hundreds of specialists on the organization of entrepreneurial activities.
