PhD in Veterinary Medicine, Associate Professor in Microbiology and Immunology
İltifat Hajiyev is a distinguished expert with over 45 years of rich experience in veterinary medicine, infectious diseases of animals, and laboratory diagnostics. Born in 1956, he graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Azerbaijan Agricultural Academy in 1978. He holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine and the academic title of Associate Professor.
Scientific and Professional Career:
• Career Path: He began his scientific activities in relevant scientific laboratories of the USSR and served as a lecturer at the Department of Epizootiology and Parasitology at the Novosibirsk Agricultural University. For many years, he served as the Director-Chief Physician of the “Animals” company and as the Chief Veterinarian of the Baku Zoo.
• Management: Since 2020, he has been serving as the Deputy Director of the Veterinary Research Institute.
• Scientific Specialization: He conducts fundamental research in the field of microbiology and immunology. He specifically specializes in the immunopathogenesis of the zoonotic disease brucellosis and the study of avian immunoglobulins (class Y).
Scientific Achievements and Inventions:
• Development of Preparations: He has developed 4 new preparations for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases in animals and 2 biological feed additives for newborn calves.
• Patents and Documentation: He is the author of a Eurasian patent application for the application of feed additives based on avian antibodies.
• Publications: Over the last 5 years, he has authored 16 scientific articles published in Russia and Azerbaijan. Currently, his monograph on the systematic analysis of brucellosis in animals and humans is in the publishing stage.
