Expert in Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies in Animal Husbandry
Rashad Maharramov is a professional veterinarian and expert specializing in breeding, artificial insemination, and embryo transfer in animal husbandry. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (2006–2010) and a Master’s degree (2020–2022) from the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU). He has extensive experience in the conservation of genetic resources and the application of modern reproduction methods in animal husbandry.
Main activities and achievements:
• Management experience: Since 2020, he has been serving as the Head of the Laboratory of Biotechnology, Genetic Research, and Embryo Transfer at the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry (RIAH).
• Professional activity: He served as the Head of the Production and Laboratory Department at the Republican Artificial Insemination Center, as well as the Director of “İstehlakçı” LLC (animal husbandry, beekeeping, and farming).
• Expertise: He holds an independent expert certificate in agricultural insurance and is a specialist in the organization of breeding work in animal husbandry.
International experience:
• FAO cooperation: Since 2025, he has been serving as the National Coordinator for Azerbaijan for the UN FAO.
• International training: He has participated in international seminars and training sessions on artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and animal genetic resources held in Ankara, Germany (“Bayern Genetic” GmbH), and with the “CRV Genetics” company of the Netherlands.
• Specialization: He has conducted joint research with international experts on assessing the environmental impact of animal husbandry and the organization of breeding work in sheep farming.
Practical experience and scientific contributions:
• He possesses deep professionalism in the organization of breeding work in animal husbandry, electronic mating programs, and correct bull selection. He also serves as a practical consultant in beekeeping and the diagnosis of non-infectious internal diseases.
Currently, alongside his scientific and laboratory activities, he continues to work as a consultant expert on the modernization of animal husbandry and increasing genetic potential.
