Zamina Sarhadova

Specialist in Plant Breeding and Seed Production, Master in Ecology

Zamina Sarhadova is a young and promising researcher specializing in pomology, particularly in the breeding and variety testing of stone fruit varieties. Born in 1992, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ecology from Baku State University (2015) and her Master’s degree in the same field from the Azerbaijan Technological University (2017). Between 2018 and 2023, she conducted scientific research at the doctoral level in “Plant Breeding and Seed Production” at the Research Institute of Fruit and Tea Growing.

Scientific and Professional Career:

Career Path: In 2017, she began her career as a researcher at the Research Institute of Fruit and Tea Growing (RIFTG). Since 2019, she has been serving as the Scientific Secretary of the institute.

Management Experience: Alongside her scientific activities, since 2019, she has served as the Executive Director of “Azerting” LLC, gaining practical leadership experience in the field of nursery management and sapling production.

International Experience: In 2018, she participated in an advanced training course on “Variety Research” of fruit varieties at the “Viveros Veron” company in Spain.

International Projects and Scientific Achievements:

Research Area: Her main scientific activity is focused on studying the productivity, biometric indicators, and disease resistance (especially to leaf curl) of introduced peach and nectarine varieties.

Publications: She is the author of more than 10 scientific articles published in India, Russia, and Azerbaijan, including a methodological guide on the shaping and pruning of peach trees.

International Conferences: She has presented reports at international scientific conferences, such as the Ecological and Biological Well-being of Flora and Fauna (EBWFF 2023).

Zamina Sarhadova possesses extensive knowledge in studying the phenological development phases of fruit varieties, analyzing fruit quality, and applying efficient cultivation technologies.
